We started with one idea — that the best part of following sport is having an opinion and finding out whether you were right.
GoSuper11 grew out of the kind of arguments that happen in every group of cricket fans. Who should have opened. Who was wasted at number seven. Whether that bowler was ever going to hold up under pressure. We wanted a place where those opinions actually counted for something — where the person who read the game best came out ahead.
That is the whole point of fantasy sport done well. You are not spinning a wheel and hoping. You are looking at two squads, weighing form against conditions, and committing to a line-up you are willing to stand behind. When it works, it feels earned. When it does not, you usually know exactly where you went wrong, and that is its own kind of satisfaction.
Over the years the brand has grown to more than a million registered players, but the thinking has not changed. We build for the fan who checks the pitch report, remembers what a batter did last time out, and has a view on who should be captain before anyone asks.
Cricket has a season and a schedule. Some nights there is no match worth building a team around, and that is where the card games come in.
